The biggest shocker right now is consumer- there are 36.5x more startups seeking funds on average, then there are investors in the consumer market. Deal flow is high, demand from investors is low in consumer.
Industries that are a Go for fundraising:
Healthcare (Medicine)- 3x more investors.
Clean Technology- 9.89x more investors then startups.
Internet of Things- 3.87x more investors then startups.
Security- 4.27x more investors then startups.
Big Data- 3x more investors then startups.
Predictive Analytics- 3.4x more investors then startups.
Healthcare Technology- 11.4x more investors then startups.
Crowdfunding- This turns out to be the largest investor to startup ratio: 37.2x more investors then startups actually fundraising. Although it’s unclear to me whether the investors are there investing in the actual crowdfunding startup, or following it for dealflow.
